Think Without Speaking




So they found Richard III's corpse recently, after 500 years resting under a parking lot in Leicester. And now they are planning a $1.5m funeral for him in Leicester Cathedral. Not bad, wonder if any of his friends or incestuous offspring will show up. And it turns out he looks pretty close to way the paintings portrayed him! Art! Huzzah! Now is the summer of our discontent!






And while we're on the topic of things probably best left underground, they found water in Timmins, ON that appears to be a quadrillion years old!! What terror lurks beneath the water..


Supposedly, it can support life without the assistance of sunlight and was originally trapped between forming rocks when North America was still a sea-bed. One of the stories mentioned the water being sweet to the taste, but deadly. Not sure how they figured out how it tastes, maybe they had one of the miners try a sip or something.



Current death news! Journalist Helen Thomas passed away recently, after having been basically forced to retire after commenting on Israel, a big fuckin' no-no. She was 92 and served as a White House correspondent since Kennedy was prez. She expressed her opinion regarding Jews in Palestine, and paid the price. I think her main intent was to comment on the killings that occur there since it's inception, but they were kind of taken in the context of "Jews go home". 


It is unfortunate that journalists are expected to report on details of issues and never directly express their own opinions, for fear of losing their jobs or reputations. She had huge brass balls to say that, and I defend her right to express herself, freely and openly, without fear of persecution or tarnish. Says a bit about martyrdom, though and the fact that she was approaching retirement anyway, so why not comment on such a long, bloody situation? It may open a few eyes..

THE OTHER SON PART II  (Link to Part I) As Abiah convalesced, he saw many things.  A mountain in flames. A sea churning with oily creatures. A goat with the head of a snake. ROLAND The Nazi occupation of Norway lasted five years almost to the day, from April 1940 to May 1945. In the spring of 1940, Germany had overwhelmed Norwegian military forces, which there were few of, and taken over the entire region, including Scandanavia. It is said that they beat the British by only a week or two, as Great Britain had plans to invade as well. Roland Uhlrichson was born in Murmansk, Norway in May 1946, one year from the departure of German forces from the country.  A post-war Norway was shaking off the German dust, rebuilding their country and optimistic about the future. After half a decade of life oppressed, they could finally enjoy full normalcy once again. Roland's father was killed around the time he was born and his mother was left to raise him alone.
